Our Pennsylvania legislature and most of our judges agree with the above sentiments. In many situations grandparents have standing to seek child custody and/or visitation.

"Standing" in the legal context refers to the ability of a person to be a party in a legal action. Grandparent standing in custody actions is controlled by statute in Pennsylvania and is typically a grandparent's first and most difficult hurdle in a bid for custody / visitation.

There are many reasons, other than parental squabbling, that cause grandchildren to lose access to grandparents. Whatever the reason, we know the legal remedies available and have helped many grandparents restore their contact and relationships with grandchildren.
